Sikkim Professional University is a forward looking institution dedicated to shaping capable, confident, and industry ready graduates. Formerly known as Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University, SPU has been contributing to higher education since 2008 and today stands among the most diverse learning destinations in northern India. Located in the peaceful surroundings of East Sikkim at NH 31 A Tadong, Gangtok, the university offers a modern campus filled with advanced facilities, vibrant academic spaces, and an inspiring atmosphere for learning and research.

Established under SPU Act No 11 of 2008 by the Sikkim State Assembly, the university is fully recognized by the University Grants Commission of India along with approvals from the Indian Nursing Council and the Pharmacy Council of India. Some of the popular programs include B Pharma, BSc Nursing, BCA, MBA, BPT, and BSc. Each program has been designed with a focus on employability, industry relevance, and hands on learning.

Sikkim Professional University also maintains transparent and student friendly fee structures. Fees range from affordable options to specialized professional programs, ensuring accessibility for learners across society. For example, B Pharma fees for the full duration are ₹ 3.2 Lakhs, BSc Nursing ranges between ₹ 1.4 Lakhs and ₹ 3.8 Lakhs, and BCA is offered at ₹ 96,000 for the complete three year program.

The university follows a merit based admission process. Candidates seeking admission to undergraduate and diploma programs must have secured at least 45 percent in their Class 12 examinations. Applicants for postgraduate programs must hold a recognized bachelor degree.

Admission Process

Admission Process
The admission process at is designed to be smooth, transparent, and student-friendly. Candidates can apply through both online and offline modes.

Step 1 Application Submission
Visit the official admission portal or the university campus to fill out the application form with correct personal and academic details.

Step 2 Document Upload
Submit the required documents including mark sheets, ID proof, photographs, and category certificates (if applicable).

Step 3 Eligibility Verification
The university reviews the submitted documents and checks eligibility as per the programme requirements.

Step 4 Entrance or Merit Evaluation
Admissions are granted either on a merit basis or through entrance tests, depending on the course selected.

Step 5 Counselling and Seat Allotment
Shortlisted candidates are invited for counselling or interaction rounds, after which seats are allotted.

Step 6 Fee Payment and Confirmation
Pay the prescribed admission fee to confirm your seat. The offer is finalized only after fee submission.

Step 7 Enrollment and Orientation
Complete enrollment formalities and attend the orientation programme to begin your academic journey at university.

Minimum Requirements

Undergraduate (UG) Programs:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Class XII) from a recognized board with at least 45–50% marks in relevant subjects.

Postgraduate (PG) Programs:
A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required.

Diploma Courses:
Applicants should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized board.

Ph.D. Programs:
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent CGPA).

For reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PH), a relaxation of 5% is provided.
Applicants with UGC-NET / GATE / CSIR / JRF qualifications are exempted from the university entrance test.

Age Limit:
No upper age limit; admissions are merit and qualification based.
