Admission Process

Guru Jambheshwar University (GJU) Hisar – Admission Process
Step 1: Check the Prospectus and Notifications

The admission process at GJU begins when the university releases its official prospectus for the academic year. Students should carefully read it to understand eligibility criteria, course details, important dates, and the fee structure. Regular updates and admission notices are posted on the university’s official website, so applicants should stay informed about any changes or extensions.

Step 2: Online Application Form

Candidates must apply online through the university’s admission portal. To do so, they need to create an account, fill in their personal and academic details, upload required documents (such as photograph, signature, and category certificate), and pay the application fee online via net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.

Step 3: Meet Eligibility Criteria

Each program at GJU has specific eligibility conditions:

B.Tech / Engineering – Applicants must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and possess a valid JEE Main score.

MBA – Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and valid scores in CAT, MAT, or other accepted management entrance exams.

M.Tech / M.Pharm / MSc – Applicants should have a relevant undergraduate degree and may need valid GATE or GPAT scores, depending on the program.

Step 4: Entrance Test, Merit List, and Counselling

Admissions at GJU are either merit-based or entrance-based, depending on the course.

For B.Tech, the university considers JEE Main scores.

For MBA, national-level exams like CAT and MAT are accepted.

For M.Tech and M.Pharm, candidates with GATE or GPAT scores are preferred.

After evaluating eligibility and entrance results, GJU releases a merit list or rank list. Qualified candidates are then invited for counselling sessions where seats are allotted. For some professional courses, counselling is conducted through the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES).

Step 5: Reservation and Weightage

GJU follows the reservation policy set by the Government of Haryana. Seats are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and other special categories such as wards of university employees, single girl children, and students excelling in sports or NSS activities. In certain programs, extra weightage is given to candidates under these categories.

Step 6: Document Verification and Fee Payment

Once a candidate is allotted a seat, they must report to the university for document verification. Original certificates, mark sheets, identity proofs, and other relevant papers are checked. After successful verification, students must pay the admission fee to confirm their seat.

Step 7: Commencement of Classes

After completing the admission formalities, the university releases a schedule for the start of academic sessions. Students can then attend orientation, register for hostels (if required), and begin classes as per the timetable provided by their respective departments.

Additional Notes

Admissions for B.Tech (LEET) and other technical programs are handled through the state-level HSTES counselling process.
